The Supreme Sikh Community Takanini is the cultural heart of the Sikh community in South Auckland. Known throughout New Zealand for its outstanding facilities, the foundation decided in 2017 to redevelop the entire area surrounding the temple. What was once a place for prayer and gathering has now become a hub for sport and recreation: a synthetic football pitch, volleyball and basketball courts, cricket nets, a running track, a children’s play area, a renovated kabaddi field, a PA system, access control gates and even a bore water installation.

Of course, state-of-the-art LED lighting couldn’t be left out. Lumosa delivered an integrated system that lights each zone precisely as needed from a minimum of 200 lux on the football and kabaddi fields to atmospheric lighting around the playground. With carefully directed beams, the light stays within the boundaries, respecting the quiet of the surrounding neighbourhood. Thanks to dimmable LED fixtures, the community can easily switch between training, match or event modes.
