ASUB Rugby Waterloo
Just steps away from the historic battlefield of Waterloo lies ASUB Rugby Waterloo, one of Belgium’s oldest and most decorated rugby clubs. Since 1965, the club has built a strong reputation with its youth academy and impressive collection of national men’s titles. In July 2023, ASUB made a major step forward in both sustainability and quality by fully upgrading its main pitch with LED lighting from Lumosa.
Uniform lighting
We installed a total of 24 CS860 luminaires across four corner masts. Each mast holds two rows of fixtures at 29.60 m and 28.60 m height, with three luminaires per side. Their precise angle of installation ensures 350 lux across the entire pitch, offering crystal-clear visibility for players, referees and spectators alike.
No spill, just kill
To protect the surroundings and ensure player focus, special lightguides were installed on the top six modules of each mast. This zero-spill solution eliminates glare, reduces light pollution toward nearby homes and minimizes disruption to wildlife. The result: high-level performance lighting that fully respects the environment.
LumosaTouch
The installation is fully controlled via LumosaTouch. With just a few clicks in the web app, the staff can choose the right lighting scenario for any training or match — from full competition mode to energy-saving presets. Smart planning helps avoid unnecessary runtime and tracks every kWh in real time. That’s how ASUB Rugby Waterloo is preparing for a future where sport and sustainability go hand in hand.
