Upgraded to a world-class pitch

The original field was built in the 1990s, lit by six 15-metre poles, and used as a multi-purpose synthetic surface for netball, tennis and hockey. In 2005, the field was extended by 15 metres to fit a full-sized hockey pitch, but no extra poles were added. In 2020, the site was upgraded again to a dedicated FIH Global-standard hockey pitch.

The challenge was clear. How do you provide high-performance lighting without adding new poles or overloading the existing ones? With smart use of different beam angles, Lumosa delivered a lighting solution that ensures uniform light coverage across the entire pitch. The installation included removing old metal halide lamps, replacing corroded cross arms and mounting the new Lumosa LED fixtures.

New poles were simply not an option within budget. We needed a solution that made the most of the existing setup while properly lighting the entire field, including the southern end where no poles were nearby. Thanks to the team at Lumosa, we found exactly what we needed.
