Schlosspark stadium
In historic Brühl, the Schlossparkstadion has taken a sustainable step toward modern LED sports lighting. The stadium is used for football and athletics and is located in a unique setting: close to the UNESCO World Heritage site Augustusburg Palace and next to a nature reserve with a large bat population.
For that reason, good lighting alone was not enough. The new LED field lighting had to suit the sport, the surroundings, and the character of this historic location.
Custom-made LED field lighting
For this project, Lumosa installed 12 CS860 Pro luminaires and 2 CS460 Pro luminaires on 18-meter-high masts. Together, they illuminate the 105 x 68 meter football field and the surrounding athletics track.
All luminaires are equipped with anti-glare technology, creating bright and uniform lighting without unnecessary glare. The selected colour temperature of 4000 Kelvin complies with the requirements of environmental protection and heritage conservation, helping to minimise the impact on nature and the surrounding area.
Smart switching, lower energy consumption
The new sports field lighting offers different lighting modes. For major events, the installation provides 257 lux. For regular matches, 160 lux is available, and for training sessions 75 lux.
This makes usage both flexible and efficient. The result is an energy saving of 85% compared to the old installation. A clear step forward for the Brühl Schlossparkstadion, without compromising on light quality.
The collaboration was excellent from start to finish, including the application process and on-site support. The conversion of seven football fields was completed in just seven working days. Clean, structured, and professional work. My sincere thanks once again!
